I really like The Third Place and prefer it quite a lot to Eventbrite. The ease to get something set up and the intuitiveness of the steps is a nice upgrade from the UX experience I get with Eventbrite.

Napa County Seed Library
Napa County Seed Library
Napa County Seed Library, a nonprofit devoted to seed saving and sharing, hosted Tomatoganza at a public market in Napa, California. Beyond the finest beefsteak and cherry tomatoes from six local farms, there were raffles, prizes, and kid-friendly activities.
Green Apple Books
Green Apple Books
Green Apple Books has been a pillar of San Francisco's book-loving community since 1967. Across their three locations, they host frequent events, such as the book launch of an oral history of 1960s girls groups. Attendees were encouraged to dress to theme!

Your guide to restaurant event management software

Have questions that we didn't answer here? We're always one call away!
Let's talk

I'm familiar with event platforms like Eventbrite. What are the advantages of using The Third Place?
Highlight your brand: Your brand is the focus—our logo won't appear at the top of your event page. On other event platforms, it's the platform's logo that's featured prominently, not your brand's.
Super easy and fast: It takes less than two minutes to launch an event using our simple, intuitive software.
Lower fees: Our pricing means you pay less to sell tickets than on other platforms. Here's a comparison:
PlatformPricingTotal fees for $50 ticket
Eventbrite3.7% + $1.79 + payment processing$5.09
Tock3% + $0.99 + payment processing$4.24
Luma5% + payment processing$4.25
The Third Place2% + payment processing$2.75
Community-focused: We love spreading the word of vibrant goings-on in our neighborhoods. We share upcoming events with The Third Place's community of neighbors, creators, organizers, and business owners—all of whom passionately support local businesses.

What kinds of businesses should use The Third Place for events?
We're ideal for local businesses, hospitality groups, and intentional communities (e.g., membership clubs, reading clubs, hobby groups, etc.)—anyone who just needs a way to sell tickets and track attendees, but doesn't need advanced seat selection.

What can I do with The Third Place's event tools?
  • Enable collaborators to co-edit the event and have access to the guest list
  • Have my event be blasted to tens of thousands of local business lovers
  • Launch different types of events
    • Free or ticketed
    • Limited quantity
    • Multi-session and recurring
    • Discounted or free for members
  • Set up discount codes
  • Add optional registration questions for attendees
  • Customize your automated communications with attendees before and after the event

Can I make my event private?
Yep! You control how discoverable your event is. Every event will have a unique link, and you can choose who to share the link with, or if you'd like to feature the link on your website or social media. We will periodically promote events that are open to the public to a wider audience, but you can opt out of being included in those announcements should you want to keep the event more private.

How do I reach a larger audience with my event?
You can choose to have your event included in our newsletter and social media shoutouts. You'll tap into a network of people who are passionate about supporting and finding interesting events hosted by local businesses.
We can even help send personal invitations to people who've attended similar events in the past. These are the people most likely to say yes. Email us at hello@thethirdplace.is if you'd like our help in promoting your event.

As a local business, why should I host events?
Events are a great way to build your community and grow its reach by being a limited-time change from the day-to-day. This creates a sense of urgency and freshness that encourages customers to visit and can help spark press coverage.
Events are also an opportunity for collaborations, allowing you to tap into a new audience. Think of winemaker dinners, pop-ups, and block parties that involve an entire street. (If you'd like an introduction to an existing partner of The Third Place for a collaboration, let us know!)

How do I turn attendees into customers after my event?
Use our community-building tools to keep these new customers for the long haul:
Collect feedback automatically: Send a customized thank-you note using our recommended language and optionally ask for feedback.
Get to know your attendees: Our customer database automatically keeps track of your current and past attendees (and their plus-ones).
Send personalized emails or texts (in bulk and 1:1): Let attendees know about future events or other ways to stay in touch.

What should I consider when designing an event?
  1. What's the goal of my event?
  2. How should I sell tickets or collect RSVPs?
    1. Choose a platform that helps you maximize show-up rate and sends on-brand reminder emails.
  3. What are my day-of needs?
    1. The experiences your customers have during the event will influence how likely they are to tell their friends about your business. Focus on creating delightful moments, offering personalized service, paying attention to detail, and delivering on the promised event concept.
  4. How do I maximize the impact of my event afterward?
    1. With our community tools, engaging with your customers doesn't end when your event does.

How do I automate the tough parts of event management?
We seamlessly takes care of all the moving pieces of restaurant event management, so you can focus on spending quality time with your customers and their friends and family. Here's how The Third Place helps:
Streamlined planning: Our software is a centralized space to bring communities together for your event. Get the word out, collect RSVPs, and reach wider audiences—all on one platform.
Efficient communication: Our built-in communication tools let you easily send event updates, reminders, and personalized messages, ensuring clear and timely communication with guests, staff, and other stakeholders.
Customized event page: Customize your event page so customers can reserve their spot, make payments (if applicable), and provide necessary personal information (like dietary restrictions). It's convenient for both you and your customers, eliminating cumbersome registration forms and manual paperwork.
Event marketing and promotion: Spread the word of your events with our built-in marketing features, including 1:1 or bulk emails and texts. Our Explore page helps your event reach people and small businesses beyond your circle.
Real-time analytics and reporting: Our platform offers insights into attendee data, ticket sales, revenue, and other key metrics, so you can make data-driven decisions for future planning.
Powerful customer data: Gather attendee information (e.g., emails and phone numbers), personal preferences, and feedback, all on one platform. You own your customer data, and you can always use it to inform future events and marketing campaigns.
